Are they your Guest or your Vendor?

So many brides and grooms make the mistake of hiring their friend or relative to record or photograph their wedding and may even go to the extent of hiring a friend's friend as a wedding planner. Here' s some advice.... never hire a friend or relative that does not own their own business or is not a professional in the field. There is a thin line between being a guest and being a vendor and most times, the friend or relative is going to end up being a vendor guest...if that makes any sense. If your fiance has his or her heart set on hiring a family member or friend, then be sure to interview them just as you would a vendor who is a stranger. Seasoned vendors will have packages, fixed prices and prior events to show you and so should your "experienced" friend or family member.

A great way to save some cash and still experience OktbEERfest is by going to your local Total Wine shop and purchasing beers from across the countries. Buy some small plastic cups, serve about 1/4 to each guest and write down the names of your favorites!

BizBash Awards & Expo 2009

My first BizBash Expo and I absolutely loved it!! I've attended an awards show several years ago at B.B King in NYC, but I have to say that adding it to the end of an Expo was genius! The educational sessions were great but wish there was more opportunity to attend all of them. The trade show floor was amazing! The Screaming Queens, free professional photo, the margaritas and loads of food tastings made this the best Expo I have ever been to! Take a look at some pictures from this years Expo. The evening started with a great presentation from The Knot and led into an awesome party afterwards. The food was to die for and the desserts provided by Eatcake, Lisa's Candy Buffet and Visions of Sugar Crumbs were the WOW factor to this event. Kathi used vendors such as Broadway Rentals for furniture and linens and Details of I Do for design. Dolce stands to be a great facility for any type of event and is right of Interstate 78 so that your guests will get to the party on time!
